"Losin' My Head Over You" was written after watching the movie, "Mrs. Doubtfire". If you've seen the movie, you'll know what I mean. It was also around the time when the tragic murder of two young girls was on the front page of every paper. I wrote the song as a love / relationship ballad, but it was 100% inspired by the above things. I came up with the music one night when a friend and I were just playing with our keyboards. My exact words were, "I like that. That's a song right there". The next morning, in the shower, the words came so fast that I had to grab a towel and go write them down before I forgot them. During the recording of the tune in '96, in a local studio, we ended up firing the producer, and it was left up to me to finish recording and mix the tune on my own. I recorded all of the keyboard, and drum tracks at home with MIDI, and the guitars were done in the studio by Michael Hampson. |
